  VIRAL DISEASES CAUSED BY MICROBES*  
Respiratory Disease
Diseases that affect the lungs. The lungs are the organs responsible for breathing. Example of respiratory diseases caused by infections are pneumonia, common cold and tuberculosis.

Bacteria Diseases of the GI tract
Loosely grouped as GI tract infection transmitted by contaminated food and water. Examples of GI tract infections are food poisoning and cholera.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD)
Sexually transmitted disease (STD) or venereal disease, term for infections acquired mainly through sexual contact. Some of the more common of these are AIDS, genital herpes, chlamydia, and human papillomavirus.
Other diseases or infestations that can be transmitted sexually include giardiasis, amebiasis, scabies.

Vector-Borne Diseases
Disease that results from an infection transmitted to humans and other animals by blood-feeding anthropods, such as mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas. Examples of vector-borne diseases include Dengue fever, viral encephalitis, Lyme disease, and malaria.
